Sanctuary Lodge Hotel, Machu Picchu

Within the Machu Picchu sanctuary – a World Heritage Site

About the place:

The Belmond Sanctuary Lodge Hotel is situated at the top of a mountain, the only hotel directly opposite the gates of the fabled Lost City of the Incas – Machu Picchu. The views here are jaw-dropping. Lunch can be taken while watching hummingbirds on the feeders in the gardens. When Bird and Dine visited, we arrived early at the Citadel, had a long, leisurely lunch in the Hotel, then revisited the Citadel in mid-afternoon, when many tourists had departed.
